As a technical innovator in Formula 1, Williams demanded a bespoke lighting system designed to their own unique specification. To light their auditorium within the new Conference Centre, Optelma's aluminium Tema Maxi profile was used to incorporate direct/indirect fluorescent lighting, low voltage downlighting, emergency lighting and cold cathode. The extruded profile's inherent strength and light weight allowed a minimum number of suspensions between the ceiling's acoustic panels. These qualities were in keeping with a Formula 1 team's key design principles.
